Ask yourself…
Do I find it difficult to sit quiet and still for a few minutes each day?
Do I pass by roses, trees, bodies of water or other gifts from Mother Nature without pausing, even for a brief moment, to acknowledge their beauty and accept the wisdom they offer me?
Am I frequently scrolling on my phone to pass the time, find connection, or be entertained?
Do I forget to look up at the moon and stars shining at night, or the clouds in the morning as they form across the sky during the sunrise?
If a “yes” popped up, follow along to find ways to press pause on the outside so you can be more present on the inside..in your entire body, mind, and Spirit!
I am present
Here. Now. In this moment. Breathe.
I am in my body, in this moment. I breathe into this moment the peace and joy necessary to experience the here and now. Because the here and now is beautiful. Life is beautiful. I am beautiful. I am here in this awe-filled moment, taking it all in. I know that the here and now is all that we ever have.

Moving into the third month of the year…March feels like the right time to check in to see how the body is feeling, how the mind is operating, and how the Spirit is connecting.

The Energy & Importance of Presence
Consider the word ~ P R E S E N C E ~
a state of existence or being…in a moment, in your physical body, with still mind, and awareness of Spirit.
Breathe…and ask…
How present am I right now, as I read this newsletter?
Are you reading this on your phone, tablet, computer? Can you notice where your body meets the device you’re using?
Pause for a second to notice, observe. Bring an awareness to your body and how you are making contact with your device and whatever you are sitting upon right now.
What do you notice about your…
breathing
heartbeat
back
head
feet
How easily are you able to observe yourself, your body, your thoughts, your emotions, in this moment, without distraction?
If you compare the way you feel when you are fully aware of what’s going on around and inside you, versus periods of time when you are disconnected from your environment and body…What differences can you notice or observe about yourself?
What is the difference you find between…
being aware of fine details of places, environments, people
being disconnected from places, environments, and people
Can you picture the energetic difference between the two contrasting examples…being aware of the details of this very moment (sounds, things you see, sensations you feel), to being aware that you are disconnected from the details (sensations) of yourself as you exist in this current moment?
Living in a state of presence, emitting the energy of “I am present” signals to the Universe that you are awake, aware, prepared to…
connect deeply with your loved ones
be of service for the greater good of all (including yourself)
heal and release old wounds
Why it’s important to develop a practice or presence
“Why does it matter?” you may be asking.
It matters because right now is all that is factually true.
Your present existence in this moment contains all the sensations you possess, and that possess you.
When you know how you feel in any given moment, you know what to do with yourself next.
You become aware of a pit in your stomach…maybe you’re starving or maybe you’re anxious. Once you notice the sensation in your stomach, you know if you need to eat something or remove yourself from your current situation.
But until you have a cultivated practice of presence, or you’ve cultivated the ability to be present and aware in your body, mind, and Spirit…it can be quite difficult to know who you currently are, how you feel in the moment, and what you need to do next.
When you are disconnected throughout your day, your children, your friends and family members, colleagues, strangers in line at the store…they feel it.
They may not realize it, and you may not either…but when you’re disconnected from the present moment, you flitter, meander, anxiously jitter through life…and it doesn’t feel very good (to you, or to those who are around you on a regular basis).
Connect to the moment at hand…
Vibrate with the harmony that is your one, true Self.

She nurtures her cup, her body - grounded both in the flowing waters of life and the steadiness of the earth.
Inquiry…
Before taking part in this inquiry, maybe you’d like to close your eyes for a moment and visualize the image of the card, or drop into your body right here, now, by taking a few quiet, slow breaths…allow yourself to become present.
What do you see in the Temperance card? What part or parts of this image stand out the most to you? What meaning does this smaller part, this detail, of the whole have for you in this moment?
What does she feel in her body?
What is she connected to in her present moment?
What is she thinking about, wondering, contemplating?
What wisdom can you receive from the image, from the word ~ temperance?
What qualities does this lady of Temperance possess that you can also find in yourself?
Vessel to Vessel. Water flows, cup to cup…my cup overflows. Where can you place your focus today, enabling you to step into your serene and subtle Self, allowing all the positive emotions you care to embody to overflow from inside to the environment around you?
Essential Oils ✨
Frankincense…the Father of all oils…the grounder, the peace-maker, the one who helps you transition into the present…be right here, right now…with your breath and bones, the fullness of your entire being.
Inhaling with Frankincense opens the airways, expands the heart-mind, allows a deep and peaceful presence.
There is no other like this one. With every breath, under the spell of this aroma, Spirit is brought forward…asking you to find your inner presence, your inner peace.
Frankincense inspires your greatness…but you only grasp this wisdom when you are present…heart beating here, breath giving yourself over to the great knowing…only in presence…only right now…because this present moment is where we find our true essence.
Meditation
Find yourself in a comfortable, cozy, resting position…in a safe, quiet, and still environment for this 9 minute meditation.
You may like to have something to write with and on for after this meditation practice.
We begin with breath…
Breathe, inhaling with the words “I am" and exhaling with the word “present.”
Journaling Prompts
When was the last time I felt my bare feet against the earth, my chest expanding during each inhale I take? Key to note…When was the last time I FELT something, was MOVED by something, was aware that I was physically, mentally, and / or spiritually FEELING something in the moment the experience was occurring? What was it? Where did I feel it? How did I feel during and immediately after the experience?
What do I notice, inside my body, when I connect to something outside my body? Maybe it’s an experience that causes nervousness or anxiety, or something that causes feelings of excitement, happiness, or ease. Maybe it’s something noisy and chaotic or something soothing and sweet. Upon getting wrapped up in, connected to the scene or scenario…Describe all the details...No editing, no judging…just the facts.
When was the last time I looked a loved one in the eyes when they were speaking to me? What were they telling me? How was I engaging with them? How did my presence in that moment affect their presence?
Activity: Stop to smell the roses, touch the bark or leaves of a tree, notice your bare feet planted on the earth, gaze into the eyes of your loved ones when you have conversations with them. Commit to a presence practice daily for a week and jot down notes on how the activity makes you feel ~ physically, mentally, and spiritually. Then…make it a life-long daily practice and notice what changes in and around you!
Final thoughts…
The words written here are just as much for me as they are for you! Practicing Presence is just that…a practice. The more often we take our time and care with each moment, the more it [our presence] becomes part of us…our default or natural state of being…one where…
i am present
Then, when we are grounded in the presence of ourselves, with our bodies, minds, right down to our core, our Spirit..that energy emanates from us to our loved ones, our environments, right back to God…who created us in his likeness so that we may live fully and free here on Earth.
Our presence with ourselves is such a gift…
When we know who we are and where we are ~ through identifying and connecting to the Self in any given present moment ~ we know what to do next!
As the Lenten season is currently upon us, it is a wonderful time to begin a presence practice. Perhaps instead of giving up something, you give in to presence…presence in moments - the here and now, presence with your family, presence in your body, presence in God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - whatever that may look like for you. By Easter, you will have had 40 days of practice, a new habit in which you are connected to yourself in a deeper, grounded, more holy way…and your life will feel better, freer, more joyful than ever!
