To celebrate my little lady’s birthday week, I’ve recorded and placed here three poems inspired by her.
If you are a mother…
You know worry and overwhelm…happiness and joy, like no other.
You know love like no other.
If you are a mother, you feel deeply, give freely, heal wounds - invisible, emotional, and bleeding - with the balm only mothers have access to.
If you have been a child…
You remember what it was like to be afraid, nervous, blissful, and care-free.
You remember the healing words and arms of your mother, in the times you needed her most and in the times when you didn’t even know you needed her…which still happens today, as an adult.
If you are alive…
You have the ability to create through the vessel that is your human, physical body…just like a Mother.
You have the ability to celebrate special occasions and ordinary days alike…with the blissful, care-free abandon…just like in your childhood years.
If you are alive…choose to celebrate today…everyday…if for no other reason than…you are alive.
So…for you…in honor of her…
a poetry reading…🎈🍰
In these words…
Explore those moments when you have nourished, sacrificed, surrendered all your love and energy to something that was greater than yourself…that served a greater purpose.
Explore those moments when you have been compassionately loved by another.

Final thoughts…
It has been such a joy to be a mother…her mother. There will be no other work, role, purpose greater than this…Mother.
Celebrate today, dear Child…you are loved, you are nourished, you are held in the heart of your Mother, now and always.
