A Yoga Teacher Training - Stepping off the anxiety path
In the fall of 2016 my anxiety hit an all time high. Brought on by numerous stressors flooding in all at once.
Luckily a continuing education course changed the “course” of my life; it was perfect timing, and kept me from spiraling out of anxious-control.
This one-day, 7-hour course titled Subtle Yoga for Trauma Recovery: A One Day Introduction led to my 200-hour yoga teacher certification specifically for Behavioral Health Professionals, and a few years later, the completion of an additional 300-hour yoga teacher certification program.
Both trainings focused on teaching yoga as an 8-limb system to help students balance, ground, center, energize…
And where I found magic was in the ability to gently, quietly move and become aware of physical sensation inside my body, which allowed me to then shape, change, and enhance the resiliency of my nervous system and to discover my very own peaceful, radiant Spirit.
Yoga postures, breath work, yoga’s 10 founding guides for living in an ethical, compassionate manner, and beginning a meditation practice altered my connection to myself, my daughter, my husband, the world around me, and my anxiety.
Through the practice of yoga, I was led back to my devotion and faith in God.
Through this reconnection with my faith and development of a spiritual practice, I have been able to fulfill life-long aspirations of becoming an author, artist, and student of ballet.
I want this for you!
For your desires to be met, for your worries to be managed, for your faith to fly!
Even if you’ve never lost your connection to that which is greater than yourself, if the energy of worry, fear, overwhelm, stress exist inside…the system of yoga can help.
Inquiry to Inspiration
Here’s the daily iPhone reminder that dings me at 8am…
Inquiry to inspiration. Ballet. Yoga. I want this felt sense in my body.
Exploration. Emotional connection.
I’ve given myself two years. Join me!
Lots of days I don’t even look at it - just swipe quickly left and it goes away until the next morning. But not this morning…
Yesterday I tried on my very first pair of pointe shoes - ever. That’s them in the photo above! They are beautiful! I love them!
I can balance in them with arms up above…but without yoga, I believe that would be impossible.
From my very first private ballet lesson in Asheville 1.5 years ago, I realized…this parallel position, 1st position, and so on…this is Mountain Pose with turnout! This feels so natural to me, to my body.
Standing in a stacked, pulled up posture. How strong…how secure…how safe…how aware…how natural.
Strength. Security. Safety. Awareness. These qualities are our birthright.
To inquire into our body and take inspiration from Spirit…this is where transformation begins.
Your Inspiration - Rooted in “Moving into Spirit”
To inspire, to breathe life into…
Latin: INSPIRARE
Also Latin: SPIRITUS…SPIRARE…translates to SPIRIT
The most inspiring, exciting, eye-opening quote I’ve ever read is one from Einstein about movement…Google it! It is the basis for my work…nothing happens until...

Final Thoughts…
Some of this work, the writing here is incomplete, imperfect in ways…what I like to call musings. So, I ask for your patience, humor, and your enjoyment in following along!
My work goals are simple, and I’ve arrived at them through transforming my anxiety to peace, through the system of yoga, through being a mother, and through the grace, will, and direction of God.
To teach mothers and their children how to transform their anxiety to peace.
To inspire you to connect deeply with your divine Self through movement, breath, stillness, awareness, art, beauty, and love.
